Maja Baretić, MD, PhD,

Dr. Maja Baretić is a consultant endocrinologist and diabetologist working at University Hospital Centre Zagreb and assistant professor at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb.

Her main clinical interests are diabetes mellitus (especially type 1 and technology), obesity, thyroid disorders and thyroid ultrasonography.

Her research interest focuses on the same subject and she has presented and published a significant number of scientific papers. At the time she is leading the Croatian Obesity Treatment Referral Centre registered as a Collaborating Centre for Obesity Management of the European Association for the Study of Obesity, and she bears the title of European obesity specialist form the same society.

Dr. Baretić is a member of the Croatian EUGOGO (European Group on Graves’ Orbitopathy) team. She is ahead of several scientific projects involving technology and diabetes, currently leading the project of the Croatian Society for Endocrinology and Diabetology “Secondary Care – Continuous Glucose Monitoring (SC-COSMO) “Clinical Trials.gov Identifier: NCT03487887. She is a Board Committee Member of the Croatian Society of Obesity, Croatian Society of Hypertension and Croatian Society of Atherosclerosis.
