Prof. Dr. Ozkan Alatas (MD, Specialist on Clinical Biochemistry)
Prof. Dr. Ozkan Alatas was born in 1961 and graduated from the Medical Faculty of Ege University, Turkey in 1985. After mandatory medical service, he became a specialist in Clinical Biochemistry in 1992 and full professor in 2002.
He is the Director of Clinical Laboratory in Eskisehir Osmangazi University Hospital since 1996. He worked as Chair of the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Vice Dean, Dean and member of Ethical Committee in Medical Faculty. Prof. Alatas has served for Curriculum Commission of Speciality Education in Medical Biochemistry under the Council of Specialization in Medicine which is working on standardization of education of medical specialists in Turkey as a member since 2009 and chair from 2014.
Prof. Alatas has been the President of Turkish Society of Clinical Biochemistry since 2012 which is the constituent society of WASPaLM.
His main research area is endocrinology especially possible relationship between hormones and cytokines. In the field of clinical biochemistry, he is the author of 80 publications in peer-reviewed international journals with more than 900 citations.
Prof. Alatas is married and has one daughter and one son.
